Stepping Up with Textures or Techniques - Pals May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2016.  We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Watercolor emboss resist on Shimmery White cardstock.

Front and back

Inset to show detail and color

For this card, I chose to highlight a couple of items that will soon be retiring: the Swallowtail stamp and Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. Watercoloring using an emboss resist has become my favorite technique! Up to this point, I have only watercolored in small areas. Not for this card! The Swallowtail stamp was embossed with black embossing powder, watercolored using an Aqua Painter and ink pads. For the background, I used a paintbrush to paint the background with water and reinkers. If you are like me, I love shimmer but am not a glitter girl. This card was so much fun to make and I love the results of the colors on the shimmery cardstock. It has such a rich, depth of color that I love. An added bonus, no two cards will ever look the same. Each will be a unique piece of art (from the heart). Give watercolor a try on the Shimmery White cardstock!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

I have done some stamping but I don't have a very good imagination. I can only copy someone else. :)
